The Sanguinary Circle is the name given to the film works of Montreal-based filmmakers, John Winston Phillips and Farah Torab Tarki. Our goal is to create both short and feature-length films that explore the horror genre outside of its conventional aesthetic. New ways of storytelling in conjunction with the use of older technology and film formats is at the core of what we foster, and minimalism, slowness, ambiguity and hand-crafted filmmaking runs throughout our films ... it's what we love.
